Django Vs. Willie

Stormy Weather

Django Reinhardt's Stormy Weather 3.2 megs

Willie Nelson's Stormy Weather 2.8 megs

Django: Django grew up playing banjo, guitar and violin in gypsy encampments throughout Europe. The violin was his first instrument, but he later became more proficient with a hand-me-down Banjo. Using the four stringed instrument, Django began recording songs in 1928.

At age 18, Django was severely burned when his caravan caught fire. The fire fused his third and fourth fingers together, which completely altered his musical style. This new style of play deemphasized use of his burned fingers and focused on the use of a guitar pick.

Willie: Willie Nelson has had memorable roles in Wag The Dog, Halfbaked and TV's "Where The Hell's That Gold."
